Title : Woodblock Printing

'Words once they are printed, give a life of their own'.

Woodblock printing or block printing is a technique for printing text, images or patterns.It originated in China in antiquity as a method of printing on textiles and later paper.It was used widely throughout East Asia. Carving the blocks is skilled and laborious work, but a large number of impressions can then be printed. Reviving this form, students of class X were engaged in 'Book Cover' designing activity using blocks made by their efforts.It gave them hands on experience.
