Title : Assembly- Save Earth on Earth Day

For the past 40 years, Earth Day has been celebrated around the world to call attention to some of our most pressing environmental and social problems, including climate change, biodiversity loss and dwindling natural resources.

Every year, Earth Day is celebrated on 22nd April at De Indian Public School to remind the students of their duties towards ‘Mother Nature.’ It was celebrated through educational and action-oriented activities that were fun. The day started with a school prayer followed by news and a beautiful thought of the day. Vidhyanshi of Class X recited a beautiful poem in Hindi. It was followed by a pledge on 'Save Earth'. Madam Principal felicitated the meritorious students who have brought laurels to the school by bagging extraordinary positions in the very beginning of academic sessions. She also added the finishing touch by addressing the students emphasizing the importance of forestation, planting of trees and the need for everyone to put together their efforts and get into action, in protecting our environment.

Also, the students of classes IX-XII attended the live streaming session in which various officials from Ministry of Earth Sciences participated. The main topic that was raised for deliberation was the contribution of Science and Technology towards the re - establishment of the Earth. Henceforth, issues such as groundwater depletion and single use plastics were closely examined, which have resulted in the deterioration of the Earth’s divinity.
