A workshop designed to enhance school teachers knowledge and understanding of Ovarian Cancer was presented by Sashakt- The Ovarian Cancer Foundation. It is a non-profit organisation founded in October 2018, whose sole aim is to make every woman in India sashakt (empowered) with knowledge and support to diagnose and fight the battle against ovarian cancer. The session was presided over by Dr. Pratik Patil (Max super speciality hospital) and Rashee Arora- Coordinator (Sashakt The Ovarian Cancer Foundation). The Dr. talked about the major symptoms of ovarian cancer- bloating, frequent urination, stomach ache, constipation and always feeling full. He also enlightened the gathering that the only way to beat cancer is to accept the reality, embrace the pain and find the courage to move forward, one day at a time.
Sashakt is a group of self-driven people on a mission to support those affected by ovarian cancer, give them a voice, provide them hope and raise awareness on a national scale. It’s a tough road but there’s nothing we can’t go through with love, positivity and patience, he added. Spread the word and save lives.
